Accoya Update

Wednesday 8th October 2014

We have taken our time at Treecraft to fully integrate Accoya material into our various products and designs, but having now used the material for over a year, we are both fully committed and passionate advocates of the benefits it brings to our products.

Its stability and lack of seasonal movement is a massive advantage for door production, and together with its undoubted durability and longer maintenance cycles, gives all-round benefits compared to almost every other species. We have produced both windows and doors where we have laminated  a veneer of Oak to the inside surface, we have used it for large panels that would not normally be practical, and we have used it for cladding a building where its stability meant we could secret nail to give a clean appearance.

Taken all together we think it is one of the most beneficial improvements to the joinery industry in many years, and put simply, "the best thing since sliced bread"
